Concert Band
Upcoming Rehearsals
All rehearsals occur on Wednesday evenings, from 7pm-9pm, at the Central Junior High School band room in West Frankfort, IL.

From Humble Beginnings...
The Southern Illinois Concert Band traces its roots to 1983 with a one time 4th of July Concert in West Frankfort, Illinois. organized by K. Scott Barker, Michael Thomas, and Theodore "Ted" Paschedag, this single concert evolved into a permanent organization.
Since then, the SICB has performed regularly around the area, and been featured in national news reports.
The SICB is a proud member of the Association of Concert Bands.
Community Driven
The Southern Illinois Concert Band draws musicians from all around the southern Illinois area, including Kentucky and Missouri. Musicians range in age and experience level, and there is no audition required to join. High school students play along side retired music educators and dedicated amateurs. The only requirement is a love of music and a desire to play and perform.
Joining is as easy as showing up for a rehearsal -- come join the group and enjoy the camaraderie of enthusiastic musicians just like you!
The Music Came First...
The Southern Illinois Concert Band performs a wide repertoire of music. Our performances often include traditional marches, holiday favorites, and popular medleys. We also perform well-known orchestral works transcribed for bands, popular song medleys, and original works by local composers.
We celebrate notable events throughout the year, including annual Christmas concerts, the Fourth of July, and special events such as the 2017 and 2024 solar eclipses.
